At the High School, we were beyond excited for the beginning of the school year and having students back in the building. The energy and enthusiasm are always a welcome sight, and this year was no exception. As is tradition on the first day of school, our senior class showed their school spirit with a fun-filled tailgate in the parking lot and decorating the exterior of the high school. There certainly is a buzz in the air, and we look forward to continuing the positivity throughout the year.
Good character and positive personal qualities are the cornerstones of leadership. At Chenango Forks, we are "building leaders one CF student at a time." We are thrilled to continue teaching and developing the key concepts and themes from "The 7 Habits of Highly Successful Teens." In September, we focused on "What does it mean to be a leader?" We continue to focus on leadership qualities into October and looking for more ways to have students in leadership positions. We look forward to facilitating and working with students on Habit #1: Be Proactive throughout October.
We are fortunate to offer a plethora of extracurriculars and clubs for our students to take advantage of at CFHS. Outside of our robust athletic programs, we have 25 more activities for students of all interests to choose from. Developing a deeper connection with the high school outside of the regular school day has many benefits and we encourage all our students to join something they are passionate about. Please take some time to familiarize yourself with our extracurricular activities by visiting the
CFHS website to access our list of organizations.
There are great events taking place to start the school year. We held Personal Best Day for our freshmen class, where they traveled to Chenango Valley State Park to participate in team-building exercises with staff and student mentors. We have had picture days and our class meetings so students and staff can get to know each other and set the high expectations we have at CFHS. We had our CFHS Open House for our Forks Nation families to meet faculty and staff and see the great programs available. We are looking forward to more positive events to continue to start the school year off Forks Strong!
